Abstract photography is the art of using colours, texture, patterns and light combined or not to create an image. There may not be a specific subject, the meaning might not be obvious and it wouldn't be uncommon to breathe 'what is it?' As with all abstract art it won't have the same meaning to everyone because of our uniqueness as humans. It doesn't matter if the abstract is about the colours, texture, patterns, light, mood, weight, feel, or even the 'look'; just ask yourself "Do I like it?"
